Apple Crisp

So when you pick that many apples, you have to make more than just applesauce. Early risers at Kelsey’s work benefited from Apple Crisp at 4 am!

Applesauce

Picked. Cleaned. Chopped. Cooked. Strained. Canned. Cooling- ready to be stored for the long cold months ahead.

Canning

Canning applesauce in the pressure canner.

Applesauce

Finally, applesauce ready for the eating.

Apple Stew

Cooked apples- starting to at least look like applesauce.

Tossed Apples

Kevin was in the groove here. Chopping and tossing the apples into the large pot. (The streaks are apple pieces.)

Chop

Cutting apples is easy when your friends buy you a Global knife as a wedding present! Thanks Meg & Adrian.

Apple Bobbing?

No, just the second stage of applesauce- 1st you pick them, then you clean them.

Labor of Love

10 feet surrounding 2 bushels and a peck of apples.

Twins!

Apple twins, a cute pair of apple picked and photographed by Kevin.

Apple Cider

The before picture of Apple Cider. I think the storms we had a few days before were particularly hard on the trees and blew a lot of the apples off.

Resourceful

Kevin used his jacket from Stanley, ID to carry a particularly good batch of apples back to his bag (I said resourceful not a planner).

The Underside

One of Kelsey’s Favorite shots of the day, from underneath an apple tree.

Apples in a Tree

We walked till our feet were soaked and the apple trees were loaded with apples.

View

The day we went wasn’t particularly warm or pretty, but it did stay dry for us to pick.

Anna & Logan

Anna and Logan came along for their maiden voyage into apple picking.

Unhappy Kevin

Kevin, still recovering from being sick was less than thrilled to amuse Kelsey’s photography attempts.

Apple Eating

Anna enjoying an fresh picked apple at the top of the hill next to Gareth.
