Night 2

We marked our campsite in the sand until our tent and gear was unpacked from the rafts.

Waterfall

There were numerous waterfalls flowing well feeding the Salmon as we rafted.

Raft Rain or Shine

Kelsey ready for another day of rafting regardless of the weather. Notice her new helmet from WRS. Go here to learn more about WRS http://www.wrsisafety.com/history.asp

Flipped Boat

A boat from another group had gotten loose over night and floated down stream flipping and getting stuck on this island.

Upstream

Upstream view from the tent on the first morning.

Morning

Morning view from the tent with the misty sky still visible.

Dinner

Dinner was prepared by our guides every evening using Dutch Ovens. Night one was a lasagna dish and focaccia bread.

View from Tent

Each night we had our tent right along the water’s edge. This was the view out our tent door on the first night.

Rock in Roots

When we stopped at Indian Creek to get our permits and campsites there was a tree that had grown around a stone. When the tree fell over the rock staying in the roots.

Lunch Stop

The first day we stopped and had lunch at Sheepeater hot springs. This was the last of the good weather.

We’re Off

The scenery on the water was amazing and every imaginable landscape. This was the first view we had launching, we knew it would a great trip.

KEVIN

Imagine that, a life jacket with the same name as the rafter!

Put-In

Middle Fork Salmon River put-in at Boundary Creek Launch Site. The near boats were all part of our trip the boats outfitted with umbrellas were part of a private group.

Stanely, Id

View from our hotel room in Stanley the morning we left for our rafting trip. Very foggy, very pretty.

Snow

This was the first time we hit snow on the trip- we took photos. We should have known we would encounter much more on our summer June vacation.

Surreal Scenery

Kelsey took this photo out the car window while driving to Stanley, Idaho. It truly is a ‘picture perfect’ shot.

Fav of Kevin

Awesome little area near the entrance to the picnic area. Kevin posed perfectly for this unique photo.

1980’s?

There was a sanctioned swimming area. The kid jumping off the diving board reminded Kelsey of the 1980’s.

One way Down

Jumping about 15-20 feet into the water. It was obviously the local after school hang out.

Looks like Fun

Kids were climbing and jumping into the lake. It looked like a ton of fun, but we wouldn’t have made our meeting had we stopped to join the action.

Kelsey in a Crack

Our admission fee got us access to Dierks Lake as well. This was along a path that lead up to where kids were jumping into the Lake.

Couple Photo

There was a nice man who took our photo in front of the waterfall.

Kelsey near the Falls

Although it is designed to handle a lot of visitors, there were very few on the beautiful day we were there.

Side Falls

These falls have very little water later in the season due to increased usage of water for irrigation.
